How is collecting a new version of shards different from trying to pull a new cookie? It doesn't matter if its a gacha game or not. They could have just made a Jam just like the legendaries and introduced it into the story. They didnt change anything and just reworded it. Disappointing to say at the very least.

They should make an option where you can use The Awakened Form and the Pre-Awakened Form of the Ancient Cookie, so that we can still use the Old Dark Cacao. But anyway, I don't know if that would be ok.
